ALFRED KUBIN
Austrian illustrator (1877-1959)
Alfred Kubin was born on 10th April 1877 in Leitneritz, Bohemia. Having begun as apprentice at a fotograph workshop, he enrolled in Academy of Munich in 1898. In 1902 he first exhibited in Berlin and published some of his drawings. He travelled to Paris and befriended important figures like Kafka and some members of Die Blaue Reiter. At that time, he used to illustrate classic works of literature.
